The date is not compulsory and yes, you can host your SFD event 2 or 3 days before!

As we understand and encourage teams to pick the best date for themselves. SFD official date is the 3rd Saturday of September and teams should try to make their celebration as close as possible to this date within the boundaries of what is possible for them.

I ask this because we may have our unit tests in our university starting from 16th September lasting till 20th September...

so it will be great if we could host the event on 13th September, 2011 since otherwise on 17th many students in my college as well as the organizing team members will be busy with tests...

I ask this since I really want to host a SFD this year, it has been my dream since last year a SFD was hosted by our seniors :)
