I talked to a few people and asked what they thought as to us doing one. I posted the idea on our forum where other groups have access. I mentioned the one group that did it here in the past and several others where we are also members. Meeting planned for Sunday. What is in the kit and is getting that one of the next steps?
thanks mike bader
Hi! Nice to hear. The kit contains from memory: - a real (as opposed to web) banner ~ 7' x 2' (smaller than) - 3 SFD T-shirt - 10 iron transfer labels - stcikers, balloons - 2 DVDs (OpenDisc/Free Distros + Free Culture Disc) to replicate The deadline to apply for the kit was August 12th this year (we pushed the limit again and again due to personal & technical issues). The next step would be to create a team/event wiki page on the SFD wiki under country/state/city (quick guide available at http://wiki.softwarefreedomday.org/CreateYourTeampage and register your event by filling up the form here: http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/cgi-bin/register.py . Of course all this is already documented in the Start Guide which I strongly recommended to read. The registration will allow you to get listed and have a marker for your event on the global SFD events map page which is here http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/map/ , making your event easier to find for visitors.
