Dear Meric,
Thanks a lot for the great song! Definitely a worthy addition to our
marketing tools for team organizers.
I do have a small problem regarding the license being NC. Organizing a
SFD event means that some team will raise funds and maybe even make
money (for themselves or the organization they
represent). So in that
context NC being so vague could conflict with such an event.
NC is also a lot more restrictive than GPL
Nina Paley has a good blog post related to the issue which you can read
here:
http://blog.ninapaley.com/2010/09/01/paley-vs-doctorow/And then some more:
http://blog.ninapaley.com/2011/07/04/rantifesto/http://blog.ninapaley.com/2010/10/20/creative-commons-branding-confusion/With this in mind it would be really nice if you could re-license the
song under a CC-BY-SA or CC-BY
Thanks a lot for your consideration and looking forward to reading from
you soon.
