The Mount Gambier team benefited enormously by having Janet and Kim Hawtin come from Adelaide to help us for our inaugural event (500km away).  They are both very experienced and so were able to provide solid advice in the lead up to the event and on the day.  We were able to get them to have a look at media statements for example.  It was also helpful for local media releases as we were able to say that these experienced people were coming for the event.  That to me is a great example of useful mentoring.

This is a _really_ good idea! If you have some experience with this we'd
love help with figuring out how we could do it. What sort of team mentoring
would help? Would it be useful for teams comfortable with SFD to sign up to
be mentors to teams new to the game, and places allocated on some sort of
recognition program that also recognises the efforts of rocking teams?

Cheers,
Pia
