Hey! Thanks for the very positive email! Don't worry to much about your English, I think it actually reads very fine and a lot of us here are not native speakers (I won't give names, but we know who we are :D ). We're glad to see you part of the group and hear from you. In fact we also have a marketing mailing list where we are supposed to discuss how to improve on what we're doing. Maybe it's a list worth reading/contributing to? SFD is only one side of what we're doing for the past 2 years as we have also Culture Freedom Day and Hardware Freedom Day. We've noticed people involved in Free Culture and Free Hardware do not necessarily care about Free Software the way we do and don't feel targeted much by SFD. Though the work they produce is meant to be shared and improved (and re-shared). So very much the same, but different. Also while we have moved our organization to Hong Kong we are now pressed to become more education oriented and have therefore decided to merge with another project of ours as well as create a Education Freedom Day. There is still some work in localizing the work we've done in English to be able to share it but it's something underway. With this in mind we should have things to do all year round with a lot of different aspect to it. Definitely something worth looking into and sharing locally we hope! Well I'm going to stop here for now, but please don't hesitate to ask questions or tell us how you feel. Thanks a lot! Fred On 07/21/2013 10:25 PM, médard Agbayazon wrote:
Hello everyone, This is the first time I write on this list even though I am a long time subscriber. Just notify you that I associate with my friends to create a new LUG (CotonouLug) in Cotonou, Benin. I have already registered on the SFDweb site. We are actively preparing for the first time SFD in Benin for 21 September. I am happy to belong to this group for the promotion of free software and will be happy to hear from you. Apologies for the quality of my English. Sincerely,
