Hi Shirish,
Hi Pia, <snipped>
Software Freedom Day certainly isn't just about Free Software :) So far as I am concerned it is also about open standards, open knowledge and as you mention, open culture.
True as well . <snipped> What do you propose we can do to better integrate the concepts of open
culture into Software Freedom Day?
off-hand, it would be nice if SFD would be able to get the Nine-Inch Nails albums http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine_inch_nails which are under CC . You could also get some poems and stories and put it either from archive.org or from gutenberg.net . There could also be a open/free culture hour where people can donate or put their art under either the Gnu FDL (reciprocity) or the slightly more complex CC licenses. There could also be a discussion by people in their events of what these licenses mean and which is good where and how.
Also, would you like your blog to be included in the SFD planet?
Pia, while I've no problems of the same, I do not know :- 1. The process that needs to be done 2. Would SFD gain anything from my blog appearing on the planet. 3. Silly but I haven't managed to get around to having a hackergochi .
Cheers, Pia
