-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 OK, that works for me. At the last SFD we had in Kitchener (2014, sadly) we had free culture movies running throughout the day, so it's a familiar combination. Thanx, - --Bob. On 2017-04-23 10:44 PM, Frederic Muller - DFF wrote:
Hi!
Well the short answer is that we have merged back CFD with SFD. We felt we did not manage to reach out to the Free Culture crowd. We did contact and get into good term with OpenClipart (Jon is a friend we met in Beijing many years ago), Nina Paley and other free culture organizations with mixed results and involvement in the event.
Then we are having too many events as well (or I feel) with SFD, HFD, DFD and EFD. So finding a date with enough time to prepare (don't laugh, we're already uncomfortable with EFD/DFD/HFD beig so close to one another) is a real challenge.
Of course this is not a fixed decision and something we could accommodate.
I hope everything is clearer now :-)
Thank you.
Fred

Hi everyone: According to Wikipedia[1], Culture Freedom Day is on Saturday, 20 May 2017.
Is the Digital Freedom Foundation organizing something? I didn't see anything on the http://www.digitalfreedomfoundation.org/ website, but Wikipedia says CFD is a DFF intiative, so it must be true :-)
Also, are there separate lists for the different Freedom Days? I'm posting this to the SFD list, but perhaps there's a better place.
