So no, it's not an excuse. As I said SN come and go, and yes we do also communicate on non-free ones because that's where newcomers are. I am not the one doing it, I don't like SN and do not have any account (nor do I have anything to say every 5 minutes).
I remember a few too but everything come and go, that shouldn't be a reason to avoid things.
SFD is not about fixing a bug, it's about promoting and explaining (often to people not so familiar with) Free Software.
I just made an example, that was what I understood.
