*Software Freedom Day Bangladesh 2012: Free to Use, Learn, Develop and Distribute * Pre-Event International Press Release September 10, 2012 More than a six hundred students, enthusiasts, advocates and members of the Free and Open Source Sofware (FOSS) community will converge in Presidency University (PU), Gulshan-2 and United International University (UIU), Dhanmondi at Dhaka City and University of Rajshahi in Rajshahi City to celebrate software freedom and free and open source ideas on September 15, 2012 for the Bangladesh celebration of Software Freedom Day. Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual celebration of various FOSS communities worldwide to educate the public on the use, advantages and benefits of FOSS. Last year, FOSS Bangladesh organized/celebrated this event at Dhaka with 170+ participants. FOSS Bangladesh area of Interest: 1. Community Building – Adoption 2.
