Dear Andre,

Finding a common date that can accommodate all territories in the world and deals with holidays whether national, religious or local is near impossible.

As it is been stated many times on the list, teams are free to judge when is the best possible date around the 3rd Saturday of September.

Some universities in China haven't started class yet and will organize the event later. The Iranian team mentioned it was a national day on 19th and that they will also pick another date.

Flexibility is the way to go and we trust each team leader to be aware of the local context to decide what's best for their Software Freedom Day event.

Where do I put in the report for SFD'2009?

The Kolkata team had its SFD event yesterday (15th).

Thanks

Software Freedom Day is on the 19th (this Saturday) the point
of having it on the same day all over the world is that we can focus
media attention, sponsors etc. and market the heck out of
open source software. If we all start having SFD on our own days
it will still be great, but hardly an international software freedom day.
