Way to go James. (Also Catscratch's language pooling :)
As I have been asked to help out with the Sydney event, the Live On The Air Component won't be starting until about 9:30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. However what I am thinking off is running a music loop interspersed with audio messages from various teams around the world. These would be 1-2 minutes long and would consist of someone from each team introducing themselves and giving a brief rundown of what they are going to be doing. The messages can be in either english or your local language.
Once we get to 9:30pm we will then be going live. I will be updating throughout the night with live interviews with teams around the world.
A special request to NZers, given the time difference you guys are going to be finished before we go live (unless you're running a SFD rave party :)).
We'll do our very best 4 ya! :))
Would it be possible for you to prerecord an event report and shoot me a link on the day?
Perhaps. We have to focus on the local timetable, and work off that - remembering not to confuse and lose our attendees with 'too much tech' distraction. So we'll see how we go. Having thought live reporting through a bit further, what we can do for most of our 8-hour lab session (4 on 16th, 4 on 17th) is to run a webcam of our SFD gathering, and supply an ftp link for that (- unless SFI can sort an ftp server & accounts for teams to use for pix stream up/down- loading?) With the ftp link we'll supply our local cellph#, so that anyone wanting an interview just needs to ring that for the audio feed - and get interviewees in front of the webcam. That way, you can get your clip directly from us - within the timebands we can go live. We'll strive for something live on SFD nite too :) and keep an eye out for IRC. PS Sorry to hear about Steve Irwin ~ be well with the crocodiles :-/ -- Rik
