The date is not compulsory and yes, you can host your SFD event 2 or 3 days before!

As we understand and encourage teams to pick the best date for themselves. SFD official date is the 3rd Saturday of September and teams should try to make their celebration as close as possible to this date within the boundaries of what is possible for them.
