I hadn't actually tried using Gmail with Dillo before, but I just heard that Gmail recently implemented a "plain html" version and would thus work on any browser. That inspired me to try it with Dillo and sure enough it works. Maybe it always did, but it certainly does now. :-) Jonathan

Thanks Jonathan. This is very important news. Please test it throughly to be sure it works 100%. If that's confirmed it'd be worth to add a news item in our web site. After all, what could be faster than dillo as web mail? -- Cheers Jorge.-

I just compiled and packages 0.8.4 for MkLinux so I will use it and testit. But it is the plain version of Gmail that is very well done: it works really smooth with netscape 4.79 and looks good. They must have used skilled designers. Under ns 4.79 I notice the use of Javascript though (looking at the status bar) so I wonder what it really does, it may be that the "plain" version still detects and adatps to the capabilities of the browser. Cheers, R

One thing that doesn't work for me: signing out gives me
error: redirect loop for http://gmail.google.com/gmail
Try copying the 'sign out' url onto the address line and <enter>. I have a similar problem with a heavy with extensions version of firefox. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery

I've had to switch on SSL/https just to get to the password prompt, and afterwards, I get stuck. Odd behavior. -- Kelly "STrRedWolf" Price http://strredwolf.furrynet.com
