prettige kerstwensen en een gelukkig nieuwjaar (fwd)
Hi there! I just received this message, and don't understand the languaje. It seems to be a request for some URL that doesn't display right, but I don't know. Can someone translate it and send back to the list please?

It's Dutch. .be => Belgian, so it's from a Flemish Belgian.
Can someone translate it and send back to the list please?
Roughly. I'm not Dutch, but live in The Netherlands, so can have a go. It's not on-topic though. Simply clueless.

This is not a request for money but for the reading of a problem and when you think that you a moral [something] this affair can help, then I ask you to sign the petition. Search the following address: [the URL]. Because a petition unfortantely only works when many people sign it, I ask you to send this site to your family and friends. *ahem* Well, I can at least concur and say "prettige feestdagen en een gelukkig nieuwjaar" ;^) (Merry holidays and a happy new year). -- "We've got a patent on the conquering of a country through the use of force. There's no "unfortunately".

I second that :-). BTW: it doesn't surprise me that your translation wasn't completely correct, because the letter is written in lousy Dutch (or lousy Flamish for that matter). With regards, Taco aka Aurelus
Hehe... yeah, probably someone from Belgium who saw the dillo site ends in .de , and thought that Dutch was a good language to choose as German was too difficult ;-) I would normally think this wasn't spam, but this seems to be a plead for $$$ . The site seems to have a total life's history in it (url. The idea of someone in Belgium needing financial support from what they reccon is a German programmer seems a bit far-fetched. The E-mail starts off stating that it's not asking for money, but on the link it asks for money, giving a bank account number to deposit to, and the site (users.pandora.be) isn't an official AID site, but some server's user's homepages. I checked some others... and it's just pure homepages relating to nothing... I see a scam here. I would suggest reporting this as spam (http://spamcop.net/). Even worse, this so-called website is can not be viewed with the webbrowser developped by this "German" programmer (and not with lynx either, sorry but dillo doesn't run on ascii-terminals ;-) Frank
