As for color, it does seem that plastic vs regular have somewhat different ideas about button coloration. Guess I'll try to make it greenish-and-grayish again...
The thing that bothers me most about the tabs isn't the shape, but the lack of padding. Adding a couple pixels to the tab height drastically improves the appearance and readability. And it's probably better to use the system colors for tabs, since green-and-gray could clash with someone's desktop. (Although I *do* like that particular shade of green.) ~Benjamin
