Someone wrote a patch for Dillo 0.7.1 that does something similar at http://xemacs.seanm.ca/ I modified it a while back to apply to 0.8.4 and posted my version at http://www.hyperborea.org/software/dillo/modified.html -- though I haven't tested it.
