You'll see impressive images, but that's not the main part, it's just a "front page" photo impact. This country is full of quake-resistant buildings, and usually the ones that collapse are the oldest ones or the new structures were people decided to steal money (as with the elevated highways).

Yes indeed! I was reading about how impressively well-built the area is for withstanding earthquakes. Around here (Cascadia subduction zone), there are extremely serious earthquakes more like once every 500 years, so I don't think it would go well for us...
