hi!
Hi.
I don't want to start a flame thread, but just wanted to know the actual thoughts on: how complicated would it be to port dillo to Qt-based OPIE on ipaqs?
I don't know about OPIE's API, but similar to porting to FLTK I guess.
how far is the idea of switching to fltk away from GTK?
The idea is very close and advanced. The Feasibility study is done, a porting plan was designed, some testing code made, and a new Dw abstraction layer developed. Unfortunately Sebastian has not had enough time to work on it. This is a very time consuming task and he's working on a spare time basis...
IMHO, fltk is not able to render on Qt-embedded, just on X11 and Windows
And OSX. Maybe FLTK 2.0 or 1.2.x has/will-have a rendering layer for Qt-embedded. The FLTK team surely knows better about this.
BTW, is the actual dillo-0.8.3 compiling on ipaq with GPE? haven't tried yet... I'm playing around with GPE-feed dillo2_0.6.6-r0_arm.ipk
AFAIK, the latest GPE is GTK2.x based. Dillo needs GTK1.x. Nevertheless, familiar seems to carry GTK1.x because it has a dillo-0.8.1 package. BTW, as of familiar website, they also carry FLTK. Embedded systems' toolkits are not my strongest area. Please post here anything interesting that you may find about it. -- Cheers Jorge.-
