Why not provide both? I've seen a lot of projects that provide both a .tar.gz and a .tar.bz2 (and some of them even still provide a .tar.Z). You'll need a bit more storage for hosting, but if enough people choose the .bz2 version, you'll save on bandwidth. Kelson Vibber www.hyperborea.org
